Play Your Care Right in Birmingham and Solihull
The local NHS in Birmingham and Solihull is helping local people to get the right care at the right time this Winter by launching an innovative and fun new game show animation called ‘Play Your Care Right’.
Feeling ill can get you in a spin sometimes by not knowing where to go for help. A&E, phoning 111, going to your pharmacy or GP; these are all great services, but would you know the correct one to go to for different illnesses? With the help of the Play your Care Right video, you can learn what to do in various different situations, ranging from a sprained ankle and cough, to severe chest pain and even head lice.
Dr Richard Mendelsohn, a local GP and Chief Medical Officer for NHS Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), said:
“We understand that it may be confusing for people to know where to go for their condition and the aim of this animation, while enjoyable, carries an important message. Accessing the correct service will usually mean that you will be seen quicker and by the health care professional who is best able to help you. It will also help to free up services for people who really need them.
“Sometimes in a hurry it’s easy to make a quick decision about where to go to for help, so this animation, whilst being fun and entertaining, is about helping people in Birmingham and Solihull to know which are the correct services to go to for different conditions."
